The April Tools Challenge is put on by the Living Heritage Society of Pender Harbour. Teams built boats in 3 hours and have to race. Usually associated with wooden boat festival, it attracts 500 people (25% of the harbour's population) who come out to watch or participate. It pays for itself, mostly a community event.
