Phil Makow involved with the Sunshine Coast Heritage Society, and the Sunshine Coast Trail Society.
He called 2003/02/19
Asked about [Back Country Horsemen]? also [Roberts Creek Forest Resources Board]?.
He says there is new legislation that allows regional boards to declare heritage status. The SCRD had a heritage list. Previously designation was only possible through a municipality, now the region can do one.
Irving Landing school (still belongs to the schoolboard) is a prime candidate for registration, as is the Forestry Lookout on Mount Hallowell. These may have been on the SCRD "significant" list. He is worried the schoolboard may do something with the school.
