Sunshine Coast Regional Heritage Strategic Plan
   Strategies
“Your work is to discover your work and then with all your heart to give yourself to it” - Buddha Quote of the Day

Some members of the board were asked what the current strategy of the museum is. [Barrie's strategy]? [Mike's strategy]? [Bee's strategy]? [Elaine's strategy]?

Position the SCMA as the manager of heritage on the Sunshine Coast.

High Visibility, High Profile, Community Involved

Be the Repository of Heritage Information

Get communities to feel they have an investment in the collection. - how?

Sustainability

The museum must be in a sustainable position and undertake sustainable activities on a regional level. How to pay for them? How to do things that are sustainable?

Partnerships

Partnerships with other organizations benefit both the museum's internal activities and help position it as the manager of heritage. Partnerships may also help with sustainability.

School board

Programming

Building and exhibit space

Local Governments

Offer services

Maybe this is an activity instead, that ties in to sustainability, acting like the regional manager of heritage.

Records management (where are Gibsons archives?). Create opportunities by pointing out areas where these guys are at risk.

Become the heritage advisor to the local governments who do not have advisors. (look at the charters and policies in the Coquitlam plan).

Heritage Inventory

Training for other orgs

Involvement (Investment) by Communities

Get people involved in developing exhibits.

Develop the exhibits that can later move to other sites as they develop.
