The Sunshine Coast Maritime Museum operated until 2002 in a building on Molly's Lane in the town of Gibsons. In May of 2002, it amalgamated with Elphinstone Pioneer Museum to form the Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives.

At the time of the amalgamation, [John Robertson]? was president, Mike Clement was an active member of the board, and Lilian Kunstler was the past curator.
